Inspection Procedure 16

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 16: GPS Cannot Be Received.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- The GPS antenna may be defective.
- The navigation unit may be defective

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Check that the vehicle is situated in a location with a good visibility.

Q: Is the vehicle situated in a location with good visibility?

YES : Go to Step 2.

NO : Move the vehicle to a location with good visibility. Check that the GPS can be received.

STEP 2. GPS reception check

1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position.
2. When 15 minutes has elapsed, check that the GPS can be received.

Q: Is GPS received?

YES : Go to Step 3

NO : The procedure is complete.

STEP 3. Check the GPS antenna cable.

Q: Is the GPS antenna cable normal?

YES : The procedure is complete.

NO : Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Temporarily replace the GPS antenna, and check that the GPS can be received.

Q: When the GPS antenna is temporarily replaced, can GPS be received?

YES : Replace the GPS antenna. Check that the GPS can be received.

NO : Replace the navigation unit. Check that the GPS can be received.
