PROCEDURE

Replacement TPMS sensors are activated by the factory and require only registration to the vehicle they are being installed on. Additionally if tires are switched between vehicles the sensors must be reregistered to BOTH vehicles. DTCs will be set if they are not. The MUT-III is required to register TPMS sensors.

Refer to TPMS sensor replacement procedures described in Group 31 "Tires and Wheels" in the appropriate service manual.

NOTE:
The TPMS sensor MUST be replaced every 5 years or whenever the tire is replaced or the sensor is disturbed.

NOTE:
Schrader valve cores used in TPMS sensors are made of special material to prevent corrosion and false readings. Use only the Schrader valve core listed for the vehicle in CAPS.
