GENERATOR AND IGNITION SYSTEMREMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Removal Steps 1-17:

REMOVAL SERVICE POINT
[[A]] SPARK PLUG REMOVAL
Using special tool MB991398, remove the spark plug.
[[B]] CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSING
CYLINDER REMOVAL
1. Using special tool MD998781, hold the drive plate or flywheel.
2. Remove the camshaft position sensing cylinder.
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT
]]A[[ CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSING CYLINDER INSTALLATION
1. Using special tool MD998781, hold the drive plate or flywheel.
2. Tighten the camshaft position sensing cylinder to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 22 ± 4 Nm (17 ± 2 ft-lb)
]]B[[ CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR SUPPORT INSTALLATION
Apply a 3 mm (0.12 inch) bead of sealant (MITSUBISHI Genuine Part number MD970389) in the groove as shown.
]]C[[ SPARK PLUG INSTALLATION
Using special tool MB991398, tighten the spark plug to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 25 ± 5 Nm (19 ± 2 ft-lb)
]]D[[ CRANKSHAFT PULLEY TIGHTENING
1. Using a rag, wipe dirt on the crankshaft surface and the crankshaft pulley washer.
2. Using a rag, wipe dirt on the crankshaft pulley and then degrease the place specified in the illustration.
NOTE: Perform degreasing to prevent the friction resistance from decreasing in the compressed area due to the residual oil.
3. Install the crankshaft pulley.
