Convertible Top: Adjustments
CONVERTIBLE TOP FIT ADJUSTMENTRequired Special Tools:

1. Remove the door trim (Refer to Interior, Door Trim).
2. Remove the weatherstrip.
NOTE:
- Install special tools so that they contact the weatherstrip holder mounting screw or mounting bolt around the positions as shown. (MB992050)
- Special tools is installed in the weatherstrip installation hole of weatherstrip holder. (MB992164 except MB992168)
- It installs it so that special tool (MB992168) may hit the part in the corner of door glass.
- The tape is sticking adjusted up and down and evenly in respect where special tools and weatherstrip holder are hit disregarding it when there is a space between special tools and weatherstrip holder.
3. Install special tools MB992050 and MB992164 beside the mounting hole of the weatherstrip holder.
4. Close the door window glass fully.
5. Adjust the position of the delta window glass in the fore/aft direction and the vertical direction.
1. Loosen the delta window glass mounting bolts.
2. Adjust the delta window glass to the position shown by moving them in the fore/aft direction the vertical direction.
3. Tighten the delta window glass mounting bolts.
6. Adjust the tilt angle of the delta window glass.
1. Loosen the delta window glass mounting bolts.
2. Turn the adjustment bolt. The tilting direction of the delta window glass is altered by approximately 2 mm when turning the adjustment bolt one rotation.
3. Adjust tilt angle of the delta window glass as shown.
4. Tighten the delta window glass mounting bolts.
7. Adjust the position of the door window glass in the fore/aft direction and the vertical direction.
1. Loosen door window glass mounting bolts a, b, and c as follows:
a. Loosen bolt a and bolt b with the door window glass fully closed.
b. Lower the door window glass to the position that bolt c can be seen at the hole where bolt b was loosened.
c. Loosen bolt c.
2. Adjust the door window glass to the position shown by moving them in the fore/aft direction the vertical direction.
3. Tighten door window glass mounting bolts a, b, and c as follows:
a. Temporarily tighten bolt a and bolt b with the door window glass fully closed.
b. Lower the door window glass to the installation position of bolt c.
c. Tighten bolt c.
d. Tighten bolt a and bolt b with the door window glass fully closed.
8. Adjust the tilt angle of the door window glass.
1. Loosen the door window glass mounting nuts.
2. Turn the adjustment bolt. The tilting direction of the door window glass is altered by approximately 1 mm when turning the adjustment bolt one rotation.
3. Adjust tilt angle of the door window glass as shown.
4. Tighten the door window glass mounting nuts.
9. Adjust the position of the door window glass in the vertical direction.
1. Lower the door window glass to the fully open position.
2. Remove the plugs.
3. Turn the adjustment bolts with an E-shape torque wrench (size:Q6E6). The height of the door window glass is altered by approximately 1 mm when turning the adjustment bolt one rotation.
4. Adjust the position of the door window glass in the vertical direction as shown.
5. Install the plugs.
10. Remove special tools MB992050 and MB992164.
11. Install the weatherstrip.
12. After adjustment, check that the following operations work normally.
- Power window
- Opening/closing of the doors
- Short stroke mechanism
13. Install the door trim (Refer to Interior, Door Trim).
14. With the upper edge angle of the door window glass aligned with that of the quarter window glass, adjust the weatherstrip dimension between the door window glass and the quarter window glass as shown.
15. With the special tools MB992167 and MB992168 set to the front end and center of the center weatherstrip holder, loosen the center weatherstrip holder mounting bolt for adjustment in the fore/aft direction, and use the center weatherstrip holder shims for adjustment in the lateral direction.
16. Set the special tool MB992172 for junction between the front weatherstrip holder and center weatherstrip holder.
17. With the special tool MB992165 and MB992166 set to the front and rear ends of the front weatherstrip holder, loosen the front weatherstrip holder mounting bolt for adjustment in the fore/aft direction and use the front weatherstrip holder shims for adjustment in the lateral direction.
18. Set the special tool MB992173 for junction between the center weatherstrip holders and front weatherstrip holder.
19. With the special tool MB992169 and MB992170 set to the front and rear ends of the rear weatherstrip holder, loosen the rear weatherstrip holder mounting bolt for adjustment in the fore/aft direction and use the rear weatherstrip holder shims for adjustment in the lateral direction.
20. Set the special tools MB992165 to MB992170 on the front and rear ends of the weatherstrip holders, and check the clearance at each window glass.
21. To adjust the clearance, loosen the mounting bolts of the relevant weatherstrip holder in the fore/aft direction and use the weatherstrip holder shims for fine adjustment.
22. After the adjustment, perform the water leak check.
