Tools and equipment

Removal (Driver's side shown, passenger's side similar)

Inner front door panels should be removed as an assembly with the beltline molding. The beltline molding must be installed to the door trim panel BEFORE installation to the door. Failure to follow the proper procedure will result in poor fit and possible wind noise.

1. Lower the affected window glass.

2. Remove the reflector lens (if equipped).

3. Remove the screw cover cap.

4. Remove the screws located at the reflector screw cap cover and pull cup.

5. Remove the release handle cup retaining screw.

6. Remove the release handle cup.

a. Lift and hold the release handle.

b. Lift the forward edge of the release handle cup.

a. Use a small screw driver to release the upper and lower clips at the rear of the release handle cup.

Insert the screwdriver at each position shown. Gently pry up at the top position and down at the bottom.

7. Release the clips along the lower section of the door trim assembly with a plastic trim stick.

a. Insert the trim stick into the rear slot between the trim and the door.

b. Pull on the rear of the door pocket and pry the lower edge of the panel at the same time.

8. Gently pull the sides of the door trim panel to release clips securing the sides of the panel.

9. Remove the door trim assembly with the beltline molding attached.

a. Starting at the rear of the beltline molding use a door beltline molding remover to prevent damage to the molding.

b. Insert the tool between the door glass and the belt line molding in the area shown.

c. Grasp the door trim panel as shown and lift the tool and the panel at the same time.

If the beltline molding becomes detached from the door trim panel remove it from the door using the beltline removal tool for reassembly to the door trim panel.

10. Disconnect wiring harness connectors from the electrical components at the back side of the panel.

NOTE:
Leave the switch garnish and pull cup bracket in place.

Replacement of Components

The door trim panel and belt line molding are serviced as separate parts. If you are replacing either component or if the beltline molding becomes separated from the inner door trim panel, use the instructions below to disassemble and/or reassemble the unit.

Beltline Molding Removal from the Door Trim

1. Start at either end of the door trim panel and grasp it as shown.

2. Rotate the beltline molding away from you a
little at a time to roll it off of the door trim. Start at one end and work your way across the molding in sections.

Beltline Molding Installation to the Door Trim Panel

1. Stand the trim panel on the forward edge.

2. At the rear edge press on the plastic tab as shown to allow the molding to slide past.

3. Slide the beltline molding onto the door trim panel until it stops at the bottom.

4. Straighten the plastic tab to its original position.

Installation to Door

!!IMPORTANT!!
To properly install the door panel ALWAYS assemble the parts together and install as one.

3. Confirm all clips are installed on the back side of the door trim panel.

Confirm that the front gap is approximately equal to the rear gap.

8. Engage the clips to secure the door trim to the door.

9. Install the inside handle release cup.
