SUBJECT
EXHAUST PIPE/AXLE INTERFERENCE
Exhaust Pipe/Axle Interference - 2006-on Eclipse and 2007-on Eclipse Spyder 3.8L V6. A rubbing/grinding noise audible at low speeds may be caused by interference between the front exhaust pipe and the inner axle shaft. A rub mark may be visible on the axle shaft if this condition exists. To correct this condition, loosen the exhaust pipe and attaching fasteners, reposition the pipe to allow proper clearance, then retighten. If enough clearance cannot be achieved by repositioning, some minor grinding of the exhaust flange may be necessary. Specified clearance is 3mm.
