WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE MANUAL CORRECTION - ECLIPSE 3.8L MIVEC V6 INTAKE VALVES
PURPOSE
This bulletin addresses an omission in the 2006 Warranty & Maintenance Manual concerning intake valve checking and adjustment for the 2006 Eclipse 3.8L MIVEC V6.
The intake valve clearance on the 3.8L MIVEC V6 should be checked at 30,000 miles (48,000 km) and every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) thereafter, and adjusted if necessary. This information was omitted from the maintenance schedules in the Warranty & Maintenance Manual on some early production vehicles. The manual will be corrected for later production vehicles.

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
A letter is being sent to all registered owners along with a correction insert for their Warranty & Maintenance Manual. A sample of the insert and a copy of the customer letter are shown in this bulletin.
DEALER ACTION
Please check the Warranty & Maintenance Manual for all affected vehicles in your dealership inventory. If the manual does not already contain an insert, fold and place one of the inserts shown with this bulletin in the Warranty & Maintenance manual if the part number of the manual is:

Puerto Rico - MN144159
If the part number of the manual in the vehicle is not listed above or if the manual part number is one of the part numbers listed above with "-1" suffix, the manual has the correct information
and no further action is necessary.
Contact any purchasers of recently sold vehicles and make sure they are given a copy of the Warranty & Maintenance Manual insert if their vehicle's manual has the incorrect information.
Recent vehicle sales may not have been registered in time for the customer to receive the notification letter.
