Inspection Procedure 1

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1: When the Brake Pedal is Depressed, Auto-cruise Control System is not Cancelled.

COMMENT
The stoplight switch circuit is suspected.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (THE MOST LIKELY CAUSES FOR THIS CASE)
- Malfunction of the stoplight switch.
- Damaged harness or connector.
- Malfunction of the ECM or PCM .

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Read the auto-
cruise control system diagnostic trouble code.

Q: Is DTC P15 set?

YES: Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedures - DTC P15: Stoplight Switch System. DTC 15

NO: Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the symptoms.

Q: When the brake pedal is depressed, auto-cruise control system is cancelled?

YES: It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent.

NO: Replace the ECM or PCM . (Refer to Chassis Electrical Immobilizer System - Encrypted Code Registration Criteria Table). Then go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the symptoms.

Q: When the clutch pedal is depressed, auto-
cruise control system is cancelled?

YES: The procedure is complete.

NO: Return to Step 1.
