ROOF RAIL MOULDING COMING LOOSE
Roof Rail Moulding Coming Loose - 2006 Eclipse. Due to a modification in the clear coating process, some 2006 Eclipses recently received at your dealership may have a loose roof rail moulding. Unless it is damaged do not replace the roof rail moulding. Re-secure it using the following procedure:
1. Gently remove the roof rail from the vehicle.
2. Clean the area on the roof (the rail gutter) with a clean rag dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
3. Remove any loose dirt and debris from the roof rail adhesive strip
4. Apply a bead of 3M Clear Plastic and Emblem Adhesive 08061 to the rail gutter adhesive tape seating area.
5. Use a plastic squeegee or a piece of clean cardboard to spread the adhesive out just a little wider than the width of the adhesive strip.
6. Reinstall the roof rail to the vehicle. Apply firm pressure to seat the rail in the adhesive properly. If any of the adhesive remains visible~ remove it using 3M Adhesive & Wax Remover 03607.
7. Allow to set for one hour.
8. Advise the customer not to wash the vehicle for at least one day.
