Windows: Description and Operation
POWER WINDOWSWhen the power window (main or sub) switch is operated, the door windows will open or close. This system has the following operations and features.
- There is a power window lock switch featured on the power window main switch to prevent the door window glass from opening/closing with the front passenger's and rear power window sub-switch.
- The power window of the door window glass can be opened/closed for 30 seconds with the timer function after the ignition switch is turned OFF. (The timer expires if the front door [LH or RH] is opened when the timer is in operation.)
- The power window main switch contains a one-touch down switch that will automatically open the driver's window only.
OPERATION
The ECUs affect the functions and control of the power windows.
POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH FUNCTION
Raises the driver's power window
When the front (LH) switch on the power window main switch is pulled up, the system energizes its respective power window regulator motor, and then the driver's window glass rises.
Lower the driver's power window
When the front (LH) switch on the power window main switch is pushed down, the system energizes its respective power window regulator motor, and then the driver's window glass lowers.
Lowers the driver's power window by one-touch function
When the front (LH) switch on the power window main switch is pushed down fully, the system energizes its respective power window regulator motor, and then the driver's window glass moves to its lowest position.
Raises the passenger's or rear door power window
When the front (RH) or rear (LH or RH) switch on the power window main switch is pulled up, the system energizes its respective power window regulator motor, and then the passenger's or rear door window glass rises.
Lowers the passenger's or rear door power window
When the front (RH) or rear (LH or RH) switch on the power window main switch is pushed down, the system energizes its respective power window regulator motor, and then passenger's or rear door window glass lowers.
POWER WINDOW SUB SWITCH FUNCTION
Raises the passenger's or rear door power window
When the power window sub switch (FRONT) or power window sub switch (REAR: LH or RH) is pulled up, the system energizes its respective power window regulator motor, and then the passenger's or rear door window glass rises.
Lowers the passenger's passenger's or rear door power window
When the power window sub switch (front) or power window sub switch (REAR: LH or RH) is pushed down, the system energizes its respective power window regulator motor, and then the passenger's or rear door window glass lowers.
POWER WINDOW TIMER FUNCTION
When the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position, the power window relay is turned ON. After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the system continues to turn ON the power window relay for about 30 seconds and to enable the opening and closing of the door window by the power window switch. When the driver's or front passenger's door is opened while the timer is in operation, the power window relay will be turned OFF.
