INTERMITTENT RADIO / BLOWER FAN OPERATION

PURPOSE

The radio and/or blower fan may operate intermittently during engine start or while driving, due to the ignition key not completely returning from the START to the ON position during engine start. This typically occurs in high ambient temperatures and humid conditions. To eliminate this condition, install a new, redesigned ignition switch (listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin) that has a stronger internal return spring.

PROCEDURE

If a customer complains of intermittent operation of the radio and/or blower fan, replace the ignition switch with the new part listed below. Refer to Group 54A in the appropriate service manual for ignition switch replacement instructions.
