Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge Unit Check
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE UNIT CHECK1. Drain the engine coolant. (Refer to Maintenance Service - Engine Coolant.)
2. Remove the engine coolant temperature gauge unit.
3. Immerse the unit in 70 °C (158 °F) water to measure the resistance.
Standard value: 104 ± 13.5 ohms
4. If within the standard value, the sensor is OK. Reinstall it, then check the engine coolant temperature gauge (Refer to Fuel Gauge Resistance Check Testing and Inspection). If not within the standard value, replace it.
5. After checking, apply the 3M(TM) AAD Part No. 8731 or equivalent around the threads of the engine coolant temperature gauge unit.
6. Add engine coolant. (Refer to Maintenance Service - Engine Coolant.)
