PURPOSE

This bulletin contains revised service procedures related to the new integral automatic transmission fluid (ATF) temperature sensor / solenoid harness.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION





Beginning in mid-September 2000, the solenoid valve harness for affected vehicles was changed to an integral harness/ATF sensor. Before this change, the ATF temperature sensor was a separate part. The sensor is now part of the integral harness, which requires replacing the complete harness in the event of an ATF temperature sensor failure. This bulletin contains revisions to indicate that the original service manual instructions are only for vehicles built up to 9/15/2000. New ATF temperature sensor checking procedures along with a new wiring diagram change are included for vehicles built after 9/15/2000,

Write the TSB revision number of this bulletin in the "TSB Revision" box at the bottom of the affected service manual page.

Add the new A/T Fluid Temperature Sensor Check procedure in Figure 1 to each service manual page. This information is for vehicles built from 9/15/2000 which have the new solenoid harness with integral A/T temperature sensor.
