IN-DASH CD CHANGER INSTALLATION
PURPOSE
This bulletin clarifies the installation instructions for the 6-disc in-dash CD changer on affected models.
NOTE:
The in-dash CD changer can be used with a radio head that uses a single disc player.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2000 Diamante, Eclipse, Montero Sport, and Galant
INSTALLATION TIPS
Diamante and Eclipse
^ These models use the existing radio brackets.
^ The CD changer is mounted together with the radio head, using the same brackets.
Galant and Montero Sport
^ A CD player installation kit containing brackets must also be ordered to complete the installation:
1. For Galant, use CD player installation kit part number AGL9RK1X02. The brackets are the same as those used for CD players in 1999 Galant.
2. For Montero Sport, use CD player installation kit part number AMT7RK1X02. The brackets are the same as those used for the in-dash CD player in the 1999 Montero Sport.
^ The Montero Sport 6-disc in-dash CD changer is mounted in the same position that the 1999 model year single disc player was mounted.
^ On Montero Sport models, the DIN cable is provided in the vehicle, taped to the floorpan below the radio.
^ On Galant models, be sure to install the ground cable provided in the CD player installation kit.
