ABSENT IMMOBILIZER OVERRIDE CODES
PURPOSE
This bulletin contains information about the possibility of absent Immobilizer Override Codes. Also included are dealer action steps to follow in case these codes are missing.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
A limited number of Immobilizer ECUs may NOT have Override Code numbers listed in the Diamond Net Immobilizer Override Code Request screen. If any affected vehicle's ECU has an absent Override Code, the Immobilizer ECU must be replaced.

2000 Eclipse
2000 Galant
2000 Montero Sport (Only with factory installed Security/RKE System)
PROCEDURE
As instructed in the PDI Manual and TSB-99-00-003REV, all Immobilizer ECU serial numbers should be recorded on the PDI sheet. The ECU serial number is on the ECU serial number tag located; in the glove box area on the Galant and Eclipse; on the front of the driver's-side B-pillar on the Montero Sport; and on the driver's-side trunk lid hinge bar on the Diamante. With this ECU serial number the Override Code can be found using the Diamond Net (ADNS) and accessing the Immobilizer Override Code search screen.
^ If you input any serial number into the system and find it has an absent Override Code, REPLACE THE IMMOBILIZER ECU. BE SURE TO CHECK THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE NEW ECU BEFORE INSTALLING IT TO MAKE SURE THE OVERRIDE CODE IS IN THE ADNS SYSTEM.
^ If the Override Code is not in the system, order another Immobilizer ECU.
^ When replacing the Immobilizer ECU, make sure to tear off the extra serial number tag from the ECU and place it over the original tag on the vehicle. On customer's vehicles, record the Override Code onto an Immobilizer Override Code card and give it to the customer.
Remember whenever you replace the Immobilizer ECU, ALL EXISTING KEYS for that vehicle must be reprogrammed. For reprogramming information, refer to the service manual or TSB-99-00-003REV.
