Steering: Description and Operation

GENERAL INFORMATION
The type of power steering which is responsive to engine speed has been adopted in all models. The main features are as follows.
1. Four-spoke steering wheel has been adopted. In addition, Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is provided as a standard in all vehicles.
2. The steering column in all vehicles has a shock absorber mechanism and a tilt steering mechanism.
3. A vane-type oil pump with a fluid flow control system included has been adopted.
4. The steering gear and linkage is an integral rack and pinion type.
