During Engine Overhaul

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Refer to the illustration for the service procedure, noting the following:





1. Before installing the thermostat housing and the water outlet, apply Mitsubishi Genuine Part No. MD970389, or equivalent sealant, to the areas shown.

NOTE:
- Be sure to install the housing quickly (within 15 minutes) while the sealant is wet.
- After installation, keep the sealed area away from oil and coolant for approximately one hour.





2. When installing the engine coolant temperature sensor, use 3M Nut Locking Part No. 4171, or equivalent.





3. Also, use 3M ATD Part No. 8660, or equivalent, when installing the engine coolant temperature gauge unit.
