Reverse numbered sequence shown in Fig. 47 to install, noting following:
1. Install silent shaft and water pump seal using suitable seal installer tool.
2. Install crankshaft front seal using seal installer, tool No. MD998375-01, or equivalent.

3. Apply engine oil amply to gears and line up alignment marks, Fig. 48.
4. Coat threads of oil pressure switch/gauge unit with 3M sealant, No.8660, or equivalent.
5. Install front case as follows:
a. Install crankshaft front oil seal guide, tool No. MD998285-01, or equivalent, on end of crankshaft and apply a small amount of oil to outside surface.
b. Install front case assembly and temporarily tighten flange bolts.

c. Mount oil filter bracket and tighten bolts to specifications, Fig. 49. Bolt marked with asterisk 1 has a different tighten value.
d. Insert a screwdriver into silent shaft alignment hole on RH side of engine block.
e. Secure oil pump driven gear onto left silent shaft by tightening flange bolt to specifications.
f. Install new O-ring in groove of front case at plug position and install plug. Tighten to specifications.
g. Lock silent shaft as outlined under Step d.
h. Tighten flange bolt to specifications.
Fig. 50 Oil Pan Sealant Location:
i. Apply a 0.16 inch bead of sealant to oil pan as shown in Fig. 50.
j. Tighten oil pan bolts to specifications.
