Parking Brake Lever: Testing and Inspection

LEVER STROKE CHECK

1. Pull the parking brake lever with a force of approximately 196 N (44 lbs.) and count the number of notches. The correct (standard) value is 5 - 7 notches for drum brakes.

CAUTION: The 196 N (44 lbs.) force of the parking brake lever must be strictly observed.

2. If the parking brake lever stroke is not the standard value, adjust as necessary.
