Hydraulic Hose: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Drain clutch fluid.
2. Follow removal steps outlined in illustration. Manual Transmission/Transaxle
NOTE: Removal service points as follows:
A. Clutch hose removal. (12)
Holding the nut at the clutch hose side, loosen the flare nut on the clutch pipe.
INSPECTION:
1. Check the pedal shaft bushing for wear.
2. Check the pedal arm for bend or torsion.
3. Check the turnover spring for deterioration.
4. Check the master cylinder or clutch hose for fluid leakage.
5. Check the clutch hose or pipe for cracks or clogging.
INSTALLATION
Installation in reverse order as removal.
NOTE: Installation service points as follows:
A. Clutch hose/clutch pipe installation. (9, 11 & 12)
1. Temporarily tighten the clutch pipe flare nut by hand, and then tighten it to the specified torque, being careful that the clutch hose does not become twisted.
2. After tightening the clutch pipe flare nut, check to be sure there is no leakage of the clutch fluid.
NOTE: Operational steps after installation as follows:
1. Fill clutch fluid.
2. Bleed clutch line.
3. Adjust clutch pedal.
