Power Steering






1. Loosen power steering pump fixing bolt (A, B, C, D).
2. Move power steering pump, tension belt moderately and adjust tension. The standard tension value when a new belt is installed is 490 - 686 N (110.2 - 154.3 lbs.) and 343 - 441 N (77.2 - 99.2) for an used belt. The deflection for a new belt is 4.5 - 5.5 mm (0.18 - 0.22 inch) and 6.0 - 7.0 mm (0.24 - 28 inch) when a used belt is installed.
3. Tighten fixing bolt (A) to 28 Nm (21 lbs.).
4. Tighten the remaining fixing bolts bolts (B and D) to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.) and bolt C to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
5. Check the belt deflection amount and readjust if necessary.

NOTE: This check should be carried out after turning the crankshaft one full rotation or more in the forward direction (to the right).
