Alternator






1. Loosen the nut of the generator pivot bolt.
2. Loosen the lock bolt.
3. Turn the adjusting bolt to adjust the belt tension or deflection to the standard value. The standard tension is 490 - 686 N (110.2 - 154.3 lbs.) and the deflections is 7.5 - 9.0 mm (0.30 - 0.35 inch) when a new belt is installed. When a used belt is installed, the tension is 392 N (88.2 lbs.) and deflection is 10.0 mm (0.39 inch).
4. Tighten the nut of the alternator pivot bolt to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
5. Tighten the lock bolt to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
6. Tighten the adjusting bolt to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
