Brake Pad: Testing and Inspection

The wear indicator contacts the brake disc when the brake pad thickness becomes 2.0 mm (0.08 inches) and emits a squealing sound to warn the driver.

Check Brake Pad Thickness:

Check the pad thickness through the caliper body check port. The standard value is 10 mm (0.39 inches) The limit value is 2.0 mm (0.08 inches)

Check pad for damage or adhesion of grease, and check backing metal for damage.

CAUTION:
- When the limit is exceeded, the brake pads on both the left and right wheels must be replaced as a set.
- If there is a significant difference in the thicknesses of the pads on the left and right sides, check the sliding condition of the piston, lock pin and guide pin.
