Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Testing and Inspection


Check G-Sensor Output Voltage:





1. Disconnect the G-sensor connector and connect the special tool (test harness set No. MB991348) between the terminals of the disconnected connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" and take a reading of the following output voltage. Between terminals (2) and (3). The standard value is 2.4 - 2.6 volts.

G-Sensor Output Voltage Check:





3. With the special tool still connected, secure the G-sensor so that the "FRONT" mark on the sensor mounting surface is facing straight down, and then take a reading of the following output voltage. Between terminals (2) and (3). The standard value is 3.3 - 3.7 volts.
4. If the voltage is outside the standard value, after checking to be sure that there is no abnormality in the power supply and earth wires, replace the G-sensor.
