Removal and Replacement












REMOVAL
Refer to the illustrations for the service, noting the following pre-removal steps:
(1) Release fuel line pressure.
(2) Remove the hood.
(3) Drain the engine coolant.
(4) Remove the transaxle assembly.
(5) Remove the radiator.
(6) Remove the under cover.

NOTE:
- When removing the power steering pump and the A/C compressor, remove with the hose attached. Place the removed power steering pump in a place where it will not be a hindrance when removing and installing the engine assembly, and tie it with a cord.
- Do not bend the caulking part between the A/C hose and the A/C pipe by force.





- When removing the engine mount bracket:
(1) Support the engine with a garage jack.
(2) Remove the engine lifter tool No. MZ203827, or equivalent, which was attached when the transaxle assembly was removed.
(3) Hold the engine assembly with a chain block, or equivalent.
(4) Place a garage jack against the engine oil pan with a piece of wood in-between, jack up the engine so that the weight of the engine is no longer being applied to the engine mount bracket, and then remove the engine mount bracket.
- When removing the engine assembly, check that all cables, hoses, and harness connectors are disconnected from the engine, lift the chain block slowly to remove the engine assembly upward from the engine compartment.

INSTALLATION
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Install the engine assembly while checking to be sure that the cables, hoses, and harness connectors are not clamped/pinched.
- Install the engine mount bracket as follows:
(1) Place a garage jack against the engine oil pan with a piece of wood in-between, and install the engine mount bracket while adjusting the position of the engine.
(2) Support the engine with the garage jack.
(3) Remove the chain block and support the engine assembly with the suitable tool.





(4) Align the notches on the stopper with the engine mount bracket with the arrow mark facing toward the shown direction. Then install the stopper.
- Fill with engine coolant.
- Ensure the accelerator cable is adjusted properly.
