REMOVAL
1. Remove the transaxle assembly.
2. Refer to the illustration for the remaining removal steps, noting the following:





3. Use the drive plate stopper tool No. MD998781, or equivalent, to secure the drive plate, and remove the bolt.

INSTALLATION
1. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the entire circumference of the rear oil seal lip.





2. Tap in the oil seal using crankshaft rear oil seal installer tool No. MD998776 and handle No. MB990938, or equivalents, as shown.





3. Clean off all sealant, oil and other substances which are adhering to the threaded bolts, crankshaft thread holes and the drive plate.
4. Apply oil of the bearing surface surface of the drive plate.
5. Apply oil to the driveshaft bolt and the crankshaft thread holes.
6. Apply 3M Stud Locking Sealant No. 4170, or equivalent, to the threaded mounting bolts.





7. Use the drive plate stopper to secure the drive plate, and then tighten the bolts 127 - 137 Nm (94 - 101 ft. lbs.).
