^ For 1998 models, see the chart.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

1995-98 Eclipse models equipped with 2.0L non-turbocharged 420A engine

1995 Model Year

The PCM may require replacement or reprogramming under the following conditions:

^ DTC 46, 111, 113, or 126 is set
^ Engine stall during warm-up
^ Rough idle
^ Sudden rpm rise when A/C is turned on
^ Increased throttle effort from idle
^ Purge control valve ticking noise at idle
^ Long restart after stall in cold ambient temperatures
^ On M/T models, surge under light throttle or sudden rpm drop after clutch release

Models produced before 6/16/94 (VIN SE027236)

Models produced after 6/16/94 (VIN SE027236)

All 1995 M/T 420A Models

EMR-99-001 includes PCM reprogramming or replacement for all 1995 Eclipse vehicles equipped with 420A engine and manual transmission for an emissions-related condition.

1996 Model Year

The PCM may require reprogramming under the following conditions:

^ DTC 46, 104, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 129, P0401, or P703 is set
^ Engine stall during warm-up
^ Rough idle
^ RPM undershoot after cold start and/or releasing clutch
^ Sharp acceleration in 3rd gear when climbing a hill using cruise control
^ RPM surge or flare at low speeds
^ On M/T models, slight hesitation during shifting
^ RPM flare after turning steering wheel with A/C and blower on
^ Generic scan tool cannot read all DTCs
^ PCM does not store all OBD-II Readiness codes

1997 Model Year

No Technical Service Bulletins were issued for PCM reprogramming or replacement for 1997 models.

1998 Model Year

The PCM may require reprogramming under the following conditions:

^ DTC 118 (P0172)
^ Erroneous emission test failure due to excessive purge flow
^ Hesitation and/or stumble in hot spring/summer or abnormally warm winter ambient temperatures
^ Rough idle or unstable rpm at low speeds at altitudes above 4,500 ft., after refueling in hot spring/summer or abnormally warm winter ambient temperatures
