E. Labels
1. Fill out the "Authorized Modifications" label using a ball point pen. Enter the replacement PCM part number, this Recall Bulletin number (EMR-99-001), your dealer code, and the current date on the "Authorized Modifications" labels for the engine compartment and.
NOTE:
You should have a supply of these labels. These labels come on a sheet along with the Authorized Software Modifications control module label. A quantity of these labels were sent to each dealership along with the Reprogramming Unit Kit. If you need more of these labels, order part number MSSF-023G-00A.
2. Remove all dirt and oil from a vacant area under the hood near the VECI label and affix the larger modifications label to the underhood area. On vehicles which you have reprogrammed the PCM, refer to the Reprogramming the PCM section, step 8 for control module software modification label instructions.
3. Choose the appropriate VECI label (Federal or California) from the Emission Recall Kit and install on the underside of the hood. Clean the surface of the existing label, and apply the new label directly over it, covering the original label.
