Sunroof Drive Motor Insert Clip - Precautions
NO.: TSB-96-42A-010DATE: March, 1996
MODEL: 1995-96 Eclipse
SUBJECT:
SUNROOF DRIVE MOTOR INSERT CLIP
PURPOSE
Whenever performing a sunroof repair that involves removing the sunroof drive motor, it is possible that the drive motor insert clip may become loose or fall out. The insert clip holds the cables against the motor drive gear, ensuring proper cable and motor gear engagement.
When removing the sunroof drive motor, use extreme care to avoid losing the insert clip. Before reinstalling the drive motor, check to be sure that the insert clip is fully seated over the motor drive gear. If the insert clip is not in place, the sunroof cable or gear may disengage, or the drive motor may not operate properly.
NOTE:
Refer to pages 42-65 through 42-70 of the 1996 Eclipse service manual for details on sunroof component removal and installation.
