Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

1. On models with aero parts, remove lower arm cover.

2. Remove stabilizer link mounting nuts, then stabilizer link, Fig. 47.
3. Remove stabilizer bar brackets, bushing and stabilizer bar.
4. Inspect bushings for wear and deterioration, then inspect stabilizer bar for deterioration or damage.
5. Inspect stabilizer link ball joint dust cover for cracks. If dust cover is defective replace as follows:
a. Remove clip ring and dust cover.
b. Apply multi-purpose grease to the lip and inside of dust cover.
c. Using vinyl tape, tape stabilizer link on protruding end, then install dust cover to stabilizer link.
d. Secure dust cover by the clip ring.
6. Inspect all bolts for condition and straitness.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:





a. Install stabilizer bar so ID mark is at the left, then install bushing as shown in Fig. 48.
