Removal and Replacement

Fig. 41 Power Steering Pump Removal:

Remove steering pump in numbered sequence, Fig. 41 noting the following:
1. Remove reservoir cap and disconnect return hose to drain fluid.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Cover alternator (located under oil pump) if any hoses are removed.
4. Reverse procedure to install, ensuring to install oil pump in a position towards the front of the bracket, and adjust the belt tension using the air conditioning tension pulley.
