Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair









REMOVAL
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Refer to the illustration for the service procedures, noting the following:





3. Use the oxygen sensor wrench tool No. MD998770, or equivalent, when removing the oxygen sensor.
4. Remove the turbocharger assembly with the exhaust fitting, water pipe assembly (A), water pipe assembly (B) and the oil pipe assembly attached to it.
5. After disconnecting the oil pipe, take care that foreign material does not enter the oil passage hole of the turbocharger assembly.





INSTALLATION
1. Clean the alignment surfaces of the turbocharger assembly shown in the illustration. Supply clean engine oil through the oil pipe installation hole of the turbocharger assembly.

CAUTION: When cleaning, take care that no foreign material gets into the engine coolant or oil passages hole.





2. Install the coned disc spring in the shown direction.
3. Tighten the flange nuts and bolts to 27 - 31 Nm (20 - 23 ft. lbs.).





4. Use an angle torque wrench tool No. MB991614, or equivalent, to further tighten by 60 - 70°.
