REMOVAL
1. Remove transaxle assembly. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
2. Remove clutch cover and clutch disc. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.





3. Use the flywheel stopper tool No. MD998781, or equivalent, to secure the flywheel, and remove the bolt.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order, noting the following.





2. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the entire inside diameter of the oil seal lip.
3. As shown, tap in the oil seal using rear crankshaft oil seal installer tools No. MB990938 and MB998776, or equivalents.
4. Clean off all sealant, oil and other substances which are adhering to the threaded bolts, crankshaft thread holes and the flywheel.
5. Apply on to the bearing surface of the flywheel bolt.
6. Apply oil to the crankshaft thread holes.





7. Apply 3M stud locking 4170 sealant, or equivalent, to the threaded mounting bolts.
8. Use the flywheel stopper tool to secure the flywheel, and then tighten the bolts to 127 - 137 Nm (94 - 101 ft. lbs.).
