During Engine Overhaul

REPLACEMENT
Follow procedure outlined in the illustration, noting the following:








1. When installing the thermostat housing and the water outlet, be sure to do it quickly while the sealant is wet (within 15 minutes).
2. After installation, keep the sealed area away from the oil and coolant for approximately 1 hour.

NOTE: Use Mitsubishi Genuine Part No. MD970389, or equivalent sealant.





3. When installing the engine coolant temperature sensor, use 3M Nut Locking Part No. 4171, or equivalent sealant.





4. When installing the engine coolant temperature gauge unit, use 3M ATD Part No. 8660, or equivalent sealant.
