Engine Oil: Service and Repair

OIL IDENTIFICATION SYMBOL
Only use SH or higher rated oil.
If these oils are not available, an API classification SH ECII or SH/CD ECII can be used.

CAUTION:
- Never use non-detergent or straight mineral oil.
- Use only engine oils displaying the EOLCS certification mark on the container.





REPLACEMENT
1. After warming up the engine, remove the oil filler cap.
2. Remove the drain plug to allow the engine oil to drain.
3. Replace the drain plug gasket with a new one and tighten the drain plug.





4. Supply new engine oil through the oil filler. Engine oil total quantity including oil filter and oil coolers is 4.4 dm3 (4.6 quarts).
5. Start and run the engine a few minutes.
6. Stop the engine and check the engine oil level is within the level range indicated on the oil dipstick.

NOTE: SAE 5W-30 may be used for operation in very cold weather areas where the lowest ambient temperature is below -10° F (-23° C).
