Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Check the valve face for correct contact. If incorrect, reface using valve refacer. Valve seat contact should be maintained uniform at the center of valve face.
2. The standard margin is 1.0 mm (0.039 inch) for intake or 1.5 mm (0.059 inch) for exhaust. If the margin is smaller than 0.7 mm (0.028 inch) for intake or 1.0 mm (0.039 inch) for exhaust, replace the valve.
3. Measure the valve's total length. If the measurement is less than specified, replace the valve. The intake length is 109.50 mm (4.3110 inch) and the wear limit is 109.00 mm (4.2913 inch). The length of the exhaust valve is 109.70 mm (4.3189 inch) and the wear limit is 109.20 mm (4.2992 inch).
