Sunroof Does Not Operate
CONDITION:Sunroof Does Not Operate
If the sunroof fails to operate, the control unit timing may not be functioning properly. This could be caused by the drive cable interference with control unit timing. To eliminate this condition:
1. Remove the sunroof switch panel.
2. Remove headliner.
3. Remove the sunroof control unit. Use care to avoid damaging the holding tabs.
4. Observe the top and bottom viewing windows on the side of the control unit.
Adjust the control unit timing as follows:
a. While turning the rotating wheel, observe the top and bottom viewing windows in the control unit. As you turn the wheel, a white timing mark appears in both windows.
b. When the white timing marks in both windows appear at the same time, stop turning the wheel.
5. If the control unit has locking tabs on its sides, carefully remove the tabs with a sharp blade. Be sure not to change the timing marks.
6. With the timing marks lined up and the sunroof fully closed, reinstall the control unit. Ensure the drive cable is properly installed into the control unit.
7. Secure the control unit to its bracket by wrapping a plastic tie strap around the middle of the control unit and through the slot on the bracket. After tightening, cut off any excess tie strap material.
8. Reinstall the headliner.
9. Reinstall the sunroof control panel.
