Adjustment Procedures

ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES

IMPORTANT
Always make adjustments in small increments.

After making adjustments, always re-measure to determine if glass position is at proper specifications.

Refer to pages 42-35 to 42-38 of the 1995 Eclipse service manual for adjustment details.

PRELIMINARY STEPS

1. Always first check the door-to-body alignment. With the door glass in the full down position, check the door latch-to-door striker alignment. If necessary, adjust the door striker.

2. Remove the door panel. Remove the window switch assembly from the door panel, then reconnect it so that you can operate the door glass with the switch.

A. PARALLELISM ADJUSTMENT




1. Loosen the pivot screw and slotted screw of the equalizer arm bracket.

2. Adjust the glass as necessary.

3. Retighten screws.

B. FORE AND AFT ADJUSTMENT

1. Lower glass completely.




2. Loosen both nuts of the glass guide rear track.

3. Move the glass forward or rearward as necessary.

4. Retighten nuts.


C. HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

1. To Lower Glass:

a. Roll the window down about one inch.




b. Loosen one up-stop bolt.
C. Adjust up-stop downwards.
d. Tighten up-stop bolt.
e. Repeat for the other up stop.
f. Roll the glass completely down, then completely up.

2. To raise glass:

a. Loosen one up-stop bolt.
b. Allow the tension of the window regulator to push the glass up to its proper position.
c. Tighten the up-stop bolt.
d. Repeat for the other up-stop bolt.
e. Roll the glass completely down, then completely up.

D. Tilt Adjustment




1. Loosen one glass guide rear track adjusting bolt.




2. Turn the bolt as required to adjust glass to proper tilt.

3. Tighten bolt.

4. Repeat for the other adjusting bolt. Turn it the same number of turns as you turned the first bolt.

5. Roll the window completely down, then completely up.
