Rattle From Sunshade
CONDITION:Rattle/Noise from Sunshade
A rattling noise from the rear of the sunshade when in the open position may be caused by a loose right rear sunshade slide block.
If necessary, replace the right rear slide block, using the slide block kit listed in the "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin.
A metallic noise may be heard when opening or closing the sunshade, caused by the sunshade contacting the sunroof drip channel. Eliminate the noise as shown.
1. Cut two 4-1/2" pieces of the loop side only of 3M 6481 Hook-and-Loop or equivalent.
2. Remove the sunroof glass.
3. Remove the backing and affix a piece of the loop material to each of the two ribs on the back of the rear of the sunshade as shown.
4. Open and close the sunshade. If the noise is not eliminated, glue a 2" piece of 3M 9322 Noise Reduction Tape or equivalent to each rail assembly underneath the drip channel. This prevents the drip channel from vibrating against the rail.
