Trailing Arm: Service and Repair

Fig. 34 Trailing Arm Replacement:

1. Remove trailing arm in numbered sequence as shown, Fig. 34, noting the following:
a. Using ball joint remover tool No. MB991113-01, or equivalent, remove knuckle from lower arm, upper arm and assist link.
b. Do not remove nut from ball joint. Suspend special tool with a rope to prevent it from dropping.
2. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install stabilizer link as describer under Stabilizer Bar.
b. Verify wheel alignment and operation of parking brake.
