Fig. 44 Propeller Shaft Replacement:

1. Remove propeller shaft in numbered sequence, Figs. 44, noting the following:
a. Place mating marks on companion flange and flange yoke for installation reference.
b. Number of spacers used may vary between models. Note number of spacers for installation reference.
2. Reverse numbered sequence in Figs. 44 to install, noting the following:
a. Do not damage transfer case oil seal lip during installation.
b. Using a suitable dial indicator, inspect shaft runout after installation; runout should not exceed 0.024 inch at any point.
