Fig. 1 Driveshaft Replacement:

Replace driveshaft in numbered sequence shown in Figs. 1, noting the following:

1. Proceed as follows:

Fig. 3 Driveshaft Separation:

a. Using a suitable pry bar, remove driveshaft from differential carrier, Fig. 3.
b. Install driveshaft oil seal using oil seal installer tool Nos. MB990938-01 and MB991115, or equivalents.
c. When installing driveshaft, ensure splines of driveshaft do not damage oil seal lip.
