Fig. 9 Exploded View Of Front Driveshaft Assembly:

Refer to Fig. 9 when disassembling the front driveshafts, noting the following:

1. Press off inner shaft using suitable press and bearing remover tool Nos. MB991248 or MD998801, or equivalent.
2. Remove center bearing using bearing remover tool Nos. MB990938 & MB990930, or equivalent.
3. Wrap masking tape on splined end of driveshaft prior to removing joint boot.
4. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Install center bearing using bearing installation tool Nos. MB990938 and MB990932, or equivalent.
b. Apply grease to rear surface of all dust seals.
c. Install oil seals using oil seal installer tool No. MB990890, or equivalent.
d. Install inner shaft using bearing installation tool No. MB991172, or equivalent.
e. Assemble TJ case and inner shaft using shaft installation tool Nos. MB991248 or MD998801, or equivalent.
