Clutch Assist Booster: Adjustments
Fig. 10 Pushrod Clearance Measurement (B):
1. Measure dimension (B) between master cylinder and face and piston, Fig. 10. Measure with square placed on master cylinder end face then subtract thickness of square equaling (B).
Fig. 11 Pushrod Clearance Measurement (C):
2. Obtain dimension (C) between clutch booster mounting surface and master cylinder end face, Fig. 11.
Fig. 12 Pushrod Clearance Measurement (D):
3. Measure dimension (D) between master cylinder mounting surface on clutch booster and the pushrod end, Fig. 12. Measure with square placed on clutch booster, then subtract thickness of square equaling (D).
Fig. 13 Pushrod Clearance Measurement (A):
4. Using measured values obtained in steps 1 through 3, obtain clearance for dimension (A), Fig. 13, between clutch booster pushrod and piston using following formula: ( A ( A = B - C - D ) ).
5. If clearance is not within 0.0082-0.0181 inch, adjust by changing pushrod length by turning adjustable end of pushrod. When clutch booster negative pressure of 9.7 psi is applied, the clearance (A) becomes 0.0039-0.0118 inch.
