DESCRIPTION OF TEMPORARY IDENTIFICATION MARKS
The cylinder block bearing bores are identified by the marks I, II, or III according to their sizes. These marks are stamped into the cylinder block lower face. A bore marked "I" takes a bearing with a pink mark or the "I" mark; a bore marked "II" takes a bearing with a red mark or a "II", and so forth. Thus a bore marked "I" would take a bearing with a pink mark or a "I" on it. Please consult the referenced pages in the Engine Overhaul Manual for complete information.
