Four Wheel Steering

1. Disconnect pressure hose from rear oil pump and install power steering oil pressure gauge adapter tool No. MB990993-01, or equivalent, Fig. 2.
2. Connect a suitable rubber hose to tool and place other end into a two quart graduated container.
3. Raise and support vehicle.

4. Start engine and place transaxle in Drive position, then slowly raise indicated vehicle speed to 31 mph and hold, measuring discharge flow volume for 30 seconds, Fig. 3. Ensure vehicle is properly supported and secured for this step. Use extreme caution when working around moving wheels.
5. If the discharge flow volume is not as specified in "Power Steering Pressure Specifications" chart, rear oil pump should be replaced.
