Air Bag - Driver

Refer to Technician Safety Information for air bag arming and disarming before preceding with following procedures.

1. Set front wheels in straight ahead position, then remove ignition key.

2. Remove air bag module mounting nut from rear side of steering wheel, Fig. 23.
3. Spread air bag connector lock by pressing toward outer side with screwdriver, then disconnect clockspring connector.
4. Remove air bag module.
5. Remove clockspring.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure clockspring mating marks are properly aligned.
