Fuel Pump Relay No. 2 Test

Fuel Pump Relay #2 Location:






NOTE: The NO. 2 fuel pump relay connector has 5 terminals. When viewed the terminals are numbered 1 to 3 from left to right on top, and 4 and 5 from left to right on the bottom.

1. Remove the NO. 2 relay and connect a jumper wire from terminal 3 of the relay to battery positive. Connect another jumper wire from terminal 1 of the relay to battery ground.
2. With battery power applied, check for continuity between terminals 2 and 5 of the relay. There should be no continuity present. Check for continuity between terminals 4 and 5 of the relay with battery voltage applied. There should be continuity.
3. Disconnect the jumper lead from the relay to battery ground, and recheck the terminals for continuity. There should be no continuity between terminals 4 and 5 with battery power removed. There should be continuity between terminals 2 and 5 with power removed.

If the NO. 2 fuel pump relay fails any of the listed tests it will need to be replaced.
