Fuel Injector Resistor: Testing and Inspection
COMPONENT TESTInjector Resistor Location:
1. Disconnect the resistor connector.
Fuel Injector Resistor Connector:
2. Measure the resistance between terminal 4 and each of the other terminals, one at a time.
Resistance: 5.5 - 6.5 ohms at 20°C (68°F)
3. If the resitance is not as specified for one or more of the resistor terminals, the resistor is faulty.
HARNESS TEST
Fuel Injector Circuit:
1. Disconnect the resistor connector.
2. Use a voltmeter to measure the voltage supply to the resistor, between terminal 4 and ground.
Voltage: Battery voltage
3. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
4. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between each of the fuel injector resistor output terminals and ground.
Continuity: Should not exist
