Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Drain engine coolant into an appropriate container.
2. Remove power transistor and ignition coil assembly.
3. Remove timing belt as outlined under Timing Belt.
4. Remove water pump.

5. Reverse procedure to install, Fig. 48, noting the following:

a. Install water pump bolts in correct location as shown, Fig. 49.
b. Replace inlet water pipe O-ring at both ends and apply water to O-ring to help installation. Do not allow engine oil or other contaminates to adhere to O-ring.
